Participation

Who can take part?
Children, teenagers and adults from 6 years old, belonging to clubs affiliated with FIJLKAM or to recognised sports promotion bodies, with a valid membership and medical certificate.
Do I need to be a WIKF member?
No. A valid FIJLKAM membership or membership with a recognised sports promotion body is required. The WIKF programme applies to the Dan examination requirements.
Are practitioners from other organisations admitted?
Yes, provided they belong to a club affiliated with FIJLKAM or to a recognised sports promotion body.
What is the minimum grade?
Friday 4 December, private lessons: minimum brown belt. Saturday 5 and Sunday 6 December, technical seminar: minimum white belt.
Can beginners take part?
Yes. The technical seminar on Saturday and Sunday is open from white belt, from 6 years old.
Can children take part?
Yes, from 6 years old. The technical seminar on Saturday and Sunday is open to children, teenagers and adults; the fee is reduced up to 12 years old.
Can I attend one day only?
Yes. One day of the technical seminar costs €20 (€15 up to 12 years old); two days cost €40 (€30 up to 12 years old).

Who can sit the examination?
Candidates who meet the requirements established by the official WIKF programme.
Which documents are required?
A valid FIJLKAM membership or membership with a recognised sports promotion body, a valid medical certificate and the release form provided by the organisers.
What is the technical programme?
The technical programme of the Dan examination is the one established by the WIKF.
Are preparation lessons available?
Yes. Private lessons and Dan preparation are scheduled on Friday 4 December from 19:00 to 21:00 at Zaccari Gym, for brown and black belts.

When do registrations close?
Registrations must be submitted by 20 November 2026.
How do I register?
Registration is by e-mail only: send your request to scuolakaratewadoryucamporosso@gmail.com with your personal details, date of birth, dojo, grade and the days you wish to attend.
How do I pay?
Payment must be made in cash at the venue. For different requirements or payment arrangements, please contact the organisers in advance.
Is the registration refundable?

Can I register an entire dojo?
Yes. The registration page provides a dedicated e-mail template for groups and dojo: the person responsible sends the list of participants with grades and days attended to the same address.

Which is the closest airport?
Nice Côte d'Azur Airport in France is the closest international airport, approximately 40 minutes from Bordighera. Journey times vary with traffic and the means of transport chosen.
How do I reach Bordighera from Nice?
By train (changing at Ventimiglia), by coach, by taxi, by rental car or by private transfer. Detailed timetables should always be checked before travelling.
Is a transfer service available?
An official transfer service is under evaluation. You can already send a transfer request through the Travel & Stay page so the organisation can assess the demand.
Are there partner hotels?
Yes. Seven hotels in Bordighera offer a discount for seminar participants: Astoria, Piccolo Lido, Rosalia, Lucciola, Parigi, Riviera Belsoggiorno and Gold Hotel. Details and booking instructions are on the Travel & Stay page.
Can a group stay be organised?
Yes. The Travel & Stay page includes a group accommodation request form for dojo and groups.
What can companions do?
The Discover Bordighera page collects walks, itineraries and proposals designed around the training timetable. Specific activities are still being finalised.
